White Rose Cut Diamonds

Rose cut diamonds have been used in antique jewelry since 1520. It is a cut most preferred when the loss to the rough diamond would be great if it was fashioned as a round brilliant cut stone. A rose cut diamond has a flat base and forms a low dome or hemisphere above that is covered with small facets lined up in two rows. The earliest rose cuts were no more than three or six facets ground onto a diamond crystal with a flat bottom. These stones started appearing in jewelry during the 16th century and their complexity increased in following years. The number of facets increased as well as their placement on the crown of the stone. Beacab.com stocks a wide variety of white rose cut diamonds in different shapes, sizes, colors and clarities.
